17th June 1815: 2 wide glove frames broken in Leicester

Some time on Saturday the 17th June 1815, in a workshop belonging to a Mr. Mason of Leicester, 2 wide glove frames were destroyed by Luddites.

This attack is not referenced by any historian writing about the Luddites. The sparse details appear in the Leicester Chronicle of 4th January 1817, following the confession of one of the perpetrators. As far as I can tell, the Incident not remarked upon in any newspapers around this time in 1815, and it is also not mentioned in the informer's reports being supplied and.or facilitated by George Coldham at this time.
